Patience and Practice - You will have to relearn to hear
with amplification. It will take time and a willingness to practice
listening and hearing skills that you likely haven't used in several
years. At first you may find some sounds overpowering and you may
get tired easily. This is perfectly normal. Your brain will need
time to catch up to all the new stimuli.
Sound Quality - Your new hearing aids will amplify
specific frequencies that you require for better understanding. Your
own voice and common everyday sounds will sound different until you
get used to amplified sound. Start the relearning process slowly.
Begin by wearing your instruments for a few hours each day gradually
increase the duration. Give yourself time to reacquaint yourself
with common sounds. You will hear sounds when they are in front of
you. So when communicating with others, place yourself where you can
see the other persons face. You will be able to hear better and pick
up facial gestures.
Instrument Fit - Your new hearing aids may cause
minor discomfort for the first few days until you get used to them.
If you experience persistent irritation or inflammation please

Proper Care Required - Your hearing aids must
operate in moist, hot and oily conditions. Proper care and daily
cleaning are required to ensure they last for a long time. Always
keep your instruments dry. Ensure that you remove them before
swimming or showering.
Instrument Adjustment - Your instrument controls and
batteries are smaller than most items that you handle on a daily
basis. It will take practice to get used to inserting, removing and
adjusting your instruments as well as changing their batteries.
The Proper Attitude - Having a positive attitude is one
of the most important factors to better hearing. The experience
other's have with hearing aids has no bearing on your
success.
What Hearing Aids - Over time, you will get so
used to your hearing aids that you will forget that you even
have them on.
